CBSE board exams to start on 4th May; practical exams to begin in March

The board exams will begin on 4th May, while practical exams will start in March, the minister said.

Union Cabinet Education Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank on Thursday announced the date for commencement of Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) board exams for class 10 and 12.

The board exams will begin on 4th May, while practical exams will start in March, the minister said. He added that the exams will be finished around 10th June, and the results of the board exams will be announced by July 15th.

Date sheet for both class 10 and 12 will be issued soon.

Nishank also spoke to India's success in taking education online and conducting offline tests this year despite the challenges presented by the Covid-19 pandemic.

It was earlier announced that 30 per cent of the syllabus has been reduced and the exam will have 33 per cent internal choice questions. The exam as always will be held in an offline written mode.

Practical exams are usually conducted in January and written exams begin in February, concluding in March. The exams have been delayed for next year in view of the pandemic situation.

Some schools have already conducted pre-board exams online.
