Frankland reaction is a similar reaction to Wurtz reaction.

In Frankland reaction alkyl halide are converted to hydrocarbon.

In this reaction Zn metal use in the presence of dry ether. 

R–X + Zn → R–R + ZnX2 

This reaction proceed via free radicals reaction.

In this reaction, the reaction intermediate is R–Zn–X
